As one of my voices (who admittedly has had to put up with me for 20 years) said to me recently:
"James I am a voice over actor because I have talent. You are an agent because you do not".
That pretty much sums up my career. 20 years of being a not very well known voice over agent.
But like your average iceberg there was more going on quietly out of view. During that time I built up one of Europe's leading foreign language voice over agencies with in-house sound studios. Since the 1980s Foreign Voices worked for pretty much anyone and everyone in advertising, television and corporate communications. 

There was something missing though. There we were in the middle of London but with no English talent on our books. It was time for a change so we merged with The Voiceover Gallery a specialist Manchester voice over agency representing exclusive English talent, headed by Marylou Thistleton Smith. Now we are a team of 10 bookers, sound engineers and support staf. We are fortunate to include leading advertising agencies, TV, animation and corporate production companies and some of the world's largest translation companies amongst our clients.
