In 1991, recognizing a global marketing opportunity, Christina Ford created the first production company in Canada to exclusively represent international directorial talent for Canadian commercial film production. Within five years, Imported Artists had grown to become one of the most celebrated commercial production companies in Canada, winning hundreds of awards from around the world. It was also the largest Canadian commercial film production company owned by a woman.

Imported Artists is a proud part of the increasing worldwide recognition of Canadian advertising. Ford began an international trend that has not only influenced the production community, but has reshaped the way that commercial production is executed in Canada. Today, almost every major production company has followed her lead and set up international creative alliances that help make Canada a strong and integral part of the global advertising community.

Imported Artists is highly respected for its creative acumen and production expertise. It is home to many of the top directors working in the commercial industry today, many of whom also continue to direct feature films and television. Throughout North America the name Imported Artists has become synonymous with high profile commercial production and solid career management. In 1996, Ford opened a feature film and television division named “Clarence Square Pictures”. Its first endeavor was a short film called “Seven Gates”, which was invited to a number of festivals in Canada and the US. Ford Executive Produced Clarence Square’s first television project; a short film titled “The Dane” that won the 1999 Gemini Award for Best Short Dramatic Program.

She also served as executive producer on 2003 Cannes and Worldwide Short Film Festival winner "The Truth About Head" and in 2007 was executive producer on Jeremy Podeswa's Genie award winning feature "Fugitive Pieces".

For her ongoing accomplishments Ford was honored in 2000 by Women in Film and Television (WIFT) as the recipient of the Crystal Award for Excellence in Production.
