Barkley will kick off creative with an evergreen campaign to promote shopping at and donating to Salvation Army thrift stores

The Salvation Army has announced that independent agency Barkley will be the lead agency for their Thrift Stores and Adult Rehabilitation Centers. Barkley will be developing and executing creative campaigns to help the Salvation Army achieve its goal of improving consumer relations and increasing donations to support the organisation’s Thrift Stores and Adult Rehabilitation Centers.

The Salvation Army has 83 Adult Rehabilitation Centers across the United States. They are funded through in-kind donations and sales profits from the nearly 700 Salvation Army thrift stores across the country. Each year, The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers help more than 150,000 people overcome the challenges of substance abuse, build work and social skills, regain health and stability, and restore their families. These no-cost programs are built to address both the symptoms and causes of substance abuse.

“Our partnership with Barkley will help us increase the number of shoppers in our stores, increasing our capacity to serve more people in need” says Commissioner Kenneth Hodder, National Commander for The Salvation Army. “We chose Barkley as the lead agency for our Adult Rehabilitation Centers and Thrift Stores because they are aligned with our mission, while having the strategic, creative, and analytical capabilities to extend our reach to help as many people as possible.”

Barkley will kick off creative with an evergreen campaign to promote shopping at and donating to Salvation Army thrift stores, which is expected to launch this fall. In addition to their Adult Rehabilitation Centers, The Salvation Army supports the community through several initiatives including youth programs, senior centers, veteran support programs and social service programs.

“The Salvation Army is incredibly passionate about the people they serve, making the Thrift Stores and Adult Rehabilitation Centers truly more than just a business to them,” says Jason Parks, chief growth officer, Barkley. “We’re looking forward to matching that passion and leveraging our experience with other retail and iconic brands like theirs.”
