Last week, Studio RM’s colourist Jamie Noble won Gold for best colour grade at the Ciclope Festival Awards. The award was for his work on Calvin Klein x Palace’s campaign ‘CK1 Palace’, directed by long-time collaborator Alasdair McLellan.
Produced to launch the labels’ collaborative fragrance CK1 Palace, the playful film is an ode to the cities (New York and London) that have come to define both labels. With a colour palette of saturated hues and high contrast, monochrome studio shots, Noble’s colour grading captures the vibrancy and crackling energy of both cities.
Noble and McLellan have worked together for six years, on more than 80 films for commercial clients, editorial titles, music promos, and several of McLellan’s personal film projects. Noble has worked alongside McLellan to achieve the vivid and rich tones that are a signature of the director’s output.
This year alone, Jamie Noble - known for his artistic sensibility and attention to detail - has been awarded bronze by the creative circle for his Calvin Klein x Palace grade, as well as his work on McLellan’s music video for Saint Etienne 'I've been trying to tell you'. He was also a finalist for Best Colour Grade Under 60' at the AICP Awards, for Hugo Boss 'Watches' campaign, and Best Colour Grade 60-90' at Berlin Commerical Awards for Hugo’s 'How do you Hugo?’ commercial.
