Everything started with one director, one telephone and three confirmed jobs. In 2000 Stephan Fruth founded Soup Filmproduktion GmbH without yet having an office or a company name. However he had a network of people who believed in his vision of a team-oriented film production based in Berlin.

His career path began in Munich as production manager at Bulle Berndt’s infamous ‘Filmhaus’. He moved on to Hamburg to manage the soon well-known production house ‘Neue Sentimental Film’ and finally le for the capital to start ‘Soup.Film’. Hard work and true passion soon turned 'Soup.Film' into one of Germany’s leading commercial film productions. As job requests grew Sabine Hackl and Ada Zuiderhoek joined his team as managing directors and loyal partners. Soup regularly collaborates with renowned international production houses such as Park Pictures and Tool of North America. Over the years ‘Soup.Film’ has established a roster of highly acclaimed national and international directors and continues to reach out for young talents, to build their reels and maintain a creative and open approach to the ever-changing challenges in their field.

Soupfilm 50% of its films in Berlin and the company is regularly featured in the top 10 ranking of Germany's production companies. Cost oriented solutions with a strong focus on details, quality and creativity have taken ‘Soup.Film’ to the top. By continuously integrating new formats and interdisciplinary projects, Soup will continue to draw top-talents and together with its co-workers and partners shape the future of advertising.
