Palma Pictures is one of the world’s leading production service companies. We are based on the island of Mallorca, have offices in Barcelona and Madrid and cater to a global client base. We provide a complete end-to-end service and will provide all the resources needed to guarantee high quality content capture. We supply everything from personnel, equipment and transportation to casting, location services and studio facilities.

The company was founded in 1993 by Ola and Grete Holmgren, a renowned Swedish commercial producer. He was one of the first industry professionals to recognise the filming potential the island had to offer in terms of locations, climate and proximity. Originally operating out of a small office in the heart of Palma’s old town, this entrepreneur’s new venture was christened Palma Pictures.

The original team was made up of a mixture of enthusiastic locals and foreign residents and today one of the company’s strengths continues to be its diversity, borne from this eclectic mixture of cultures and backgrounds. English and Spanish are spoken by all the crew. Other languages include German, French, Italian, Japanese and Czech.

The company now employs over 45 full-time staff and collaborates regularly with a wide selection of local freelancers while maintaining strong relationships with specialised crew from mainland Spain. The 4,500m2 studio complex provides state-of-the-art facilities for visiting productions and boasts a 1000m2 sound stage, pack shot studio, casting studios, location office, makeup and wardrobe rooms, dressing rooms, secure truck parking, restaurant, and gym.

Palma Pictures has provided service for over 1000 commercials and 20 feature films. 2007 saw Mike Day, CEO, Trent Walton, Executive Producer and Ramón Caravaca, Financial Director, become partners in the company, and in 2016 Paul Abrey joined us as Managing Director.
