As a nation, we spend hours of our day staring at screens. Which means days of our year and years of our lives we lose to TV or social feeds, staring at pieces of flattened glass of various shapes and sizes, immersed in the virtual lives of ourselves and others.
Now a new campaign from Nike - "Time is Precious” – makes the light-hearted point that time spent binge watching, scrolling through newsfeeds, and living vicariously through the lives of others on social could be replaced by getting out and running. Or Training. Or both.
The campaign takes the form of simple text based scroll and digital-style voiceover that summarises the plot and the clichés of movies, TV shows or daily life on social networks. Each one ends by pointing out that the summary just saved you multiple minutes or hours of your life with which you can get out and run or train.
The campaign launches this Saturday in the build-up to the Holiday season and the films aim to encourage athletes of any level to give themselves the best gift of all: Time to do sport. So, the question remains…Are we running today?
