This year, Wawanesa won the J.D. Power award as the leader in customer satisfaction in California. To share the award, the brand launched an all-new advertising campaign with creative agency Deutsch LA.
Notoriously known for loud, over-the-top commercials, the auto insurance vertical tends to be a sea of sameness in its marketing strategies. To flip the script and embody the brand’s humble values, Wawanesa is debuted the quietest ad of all time, titled, 'Shhh,' the campaign leans into the ASMR trend, showcasing visual and auditory sensations through the themes of savings and best in class service by going with Wawanesa.
This campaign was shot and produced by Deutsch LA’s production shop, Steelhead. The shoot utilised the unique fabrication of elements created at a prop shop. 3D printed, sanitised items were then sent to the director’s home studio, where roommates served as hand models. The ASMR recording was achieved by providing audio references to the foley artist who recreated specific sound elements using completely different objects.
