With their new album launching at the end of November, English pop rock band The 1975 have enlisted the help of Partizan director Warren Fu to create not one, but two new music videos to accompany the release.
The first is ‘Sincerity is Scary’, which was shot in LA and features frontman Matty Healy in a surreal musical routine. Set in a whimsical town where strangers dance together in the street and marching bands are always on call for the chorus; this promo is a musical number performed with sincerity. Taking inspirations from classic stars such as Charlie Chaplin and Bob Fosse, Matty adds a modern twist with his presence and charming performance.
Warren Fu said of the collaboration: “It’s been a real treat having brainstorming sessions with Matty Healy on ideas the past few months. When it comes to music videos, it never ceases to amaze me when sketches on a whim materialise in person a few days later on set. There’s no better feeling.”
