Award-winning creative and innovation agency The Variable has hired Keith Jackson as its first executive vice president. He joins the leadership team of CEO David Mullen, chief creative officer Joe Parrish and chief financial officer Jodi Heelan.

In the newly created role, Keith will infuse new strategic leadership into the agency, working across The Variable’s full range of brand partners, including NAPA Auto Parts, Merz Aesthetics and Char-Broil, to help drive business results through innovation and creativity. He will oversee the strategy, innovation, account leadership, social and integrated media teams, all of whom will report to him.

"One of the last unfair business advantages brands can leverage in the market is creativity," said David, who previously handled the duties being assumed by Keith. "The best creativity turns data and insights into new products that add new value to people’s lives and creative platforms and ideas that stand out, get talked about and create new customers. Keith has embodied this ability to lead teams to wield creativity to drive clients’ businesses throughout his career and we’re thrilled for him to join our team."

“We as an industry are in the midst of our next shift toward evolution – one that I believe will place a huge focus on creative solutions through innovation,” said Keith. “What drew me to The Variable is their deep understanding of this shift. As an agency, they have the infrastructure, people, process and work in place to help current and future clients future-proof their brands through advertising that drives growth for today and innovation that designs growth for tomorrow, positioning them well ahead of other agencies and consultancies in the industry.”

Keith joins from Brooklyn-based independent agency Translation, where he oversaw AT&T (their largest account) and HBO, as executive group director. There he guided his teams to two Silver Cannes Lions, a Clio Sports Award, and a Clio for Entertainment award.

Previously, Keith was at Circus Maximus as head of brand management. Prior, as group account director at Droga5, he helped garner Gold Lions, Gold One Show Pencils, Effies Gold, Silver and Bronze, as well as D&AD Wood Pencils for his work on The New York Times, Google Pixel, Sprint, and the UFC. Keith has also held positions at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and Crispin Porter + Bogusky Miami.
