Sophia Ray Directs Playful Promo for Mae Muller's 'Dependent'
Sophia Ray’s latest piece of work is a playful promo to accompany Mae Muller’s upbeat track ‘Dependent’. In it we see Mae struggling to make the choice between falling in love and keeping her independence. The music video plays with the vivacity of the songt hrough Mae’s performance, as we take a deep dive into her mind.
Sophia commented on the job: “I loved working with Mae, she has so much personality so working with her on developing the creative of the video was a real treat. The whole video is a hyper-real voyage through Mae’s subconscious as she argues with herself about whether a relationship is right for her. The dancers in the piece perform as extended versions of Mae, constantly niggling at her, and hindering her decisions - like her cautious subconscious trickling through as she tries to follow her heart.”
