Canadian production company Revolver Films is thrilled to unveil its latest work for Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), ‘It Takes A Society’. The inspiring narrative, centred around a father-daughter relationship, seeks to shed light on the journey of individuals battling cancer and the unwavering support provided by the larger CCS community.
Revolver, known for its commitment to projects with a meaningful core, supported director Ross Allen’s vision to tell a story that delves into the emotional rollercoaster of a cancer diagnosis - something countless people have been affected by. Acclaimed for his ability to infuse authenticity and emotion into storytelling, Ross took on the challenge of showcasing the immense scale of the CCS while navigating the personal, intimate, and relatable dynamics of a father and his young daughter. The result is a poignant portrayal of love, pain, struggle, and triumph that resonates deeply with audiences.
Embodying themes of hope, resilience, and defiance, Daisy, the hero of the story, transforms into a symbol of strength while the film traces her father's cancer journey. Director Ross Allen skilfully crafts a narrative where the connection between Daisy and her father creates a timeless atmosphere, signifying the enduring nature of their bond.
The campaign, treated more like a short film than a commercial, was shot on 35mm film, with meticulous attention given to every frame, reflecting Ross’s dedication to authentic storytelling. The collaboration between Ross and DP Liam Higgins ensured the story's emotional depth was captured in every scene.
The campaign is set to run nationally on TV, in both French and English, supported by extensive print, out-of-home (OOH), social, and web components.
