The winner of 2022’s Music+Sound Awards Best Re-Record in Broadcast Advertising was Paris-based Music Production House, Chut! on vous écoute, for their re-record of The Chordettes' 'Mr Sandman' in the Auchan 'With Pleasure’ ad.
For more than 60 years, supermarket, Auchan, has been in the life of the French people. But between COVID and the evolution of consumer habits, the challenges have been numerous for the company. In 2020, their ad agency, Orès Group, were challenged to rethink its TV spots around its new brand signature ‘It's always the people who make the difference’.

“How to refresh Auchan's sound identity while creating a link with its customers? Our idea: capitalize on the brand's atypical musical heritage with its cover of the song ‘Mr Sandman’ by the Chordettes, which had a profound impact on people's minds until the '90s. We reintegrate this iconic song into the heart of the global sound system, giving it a new freshness.
"This campaign ‘With Pleasure’ is the third re-orchestration we did of this famous song for Auchan. This film celebrates the 60th anniversary of the brand. We recomposed ‘Mr Sandman’ in a very Seventies Blues / Soul style. The rhythm is slow and round, the sounds are warm and feel good. The voice of the great singer Krystle Warren enchants this ode and illustrates perfectly the slogan ‘With Pleasure’.
