McDonald's Heads to Peabody Cumberland Market Estate for Christmas Spot

Christmas is coming! This year's McDonald's Christmas advert, directed by the Oscar-winner Tom Hooper, was filmed at the Peabody Cumberland Market Estate. The residents of the estate were thrilled to take part in this project and welcomed the crew into their flats to film interiors and even access the clock tower to light it from behind for the final scene. A snow machine and lighting cranes were hoisted over the buildings from the road, with the assistance of FilmFixer's Camden Film Office team. The many balconies at the back of the estate provided the perfect camera angle for an aerial shot of a young child learning to ride a bicycle and the variety of flats on site allowed the estate to double as two locations.
