LP/AD developed the #sickart campaign that features designer air sickness bags by Toronto street artists Runt, Jimmy Chiale and Uber5000

FlyGTA, Toronto’s ultra-short haul carrier, has collaborated with Toronto street artists Runt, Jimmy Chiale and Uber5000 to design their air sickness bags. Dubbed Sick Art (#sickart), the limited series will feature three distinct designs, one from each of the artists. The bags will be in FlyGTA’s aircraft starting from March 1st and will be available until they run out, which everyone hopes will not be too soon. In addition, framed air sickness bags will be on permanent display in the FlyGTA lounge at Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport.

“We’re a 100% local business,” commented Chris Nowrouzi, CEO of FlyGTA Airlines. “What better way to celebrate our Toronto roots than to bring Toronto’s streets to the skies? We think that this is a fun and unique way to show our love of Toronto and the great things you can only know after having spent time living in the city.”

The idea was developed and produced by Toronto creative and branding boutique LP/AD. “When a street artist does a quick illustration on the side of a building, in street art lingo that’s called a throw-up,” commented Alex Shifrin, Managing Partner at LP/AD. “The creative kind of wrote itself, really.”

Runt, Uber5000 and Jimmy Chiale are three of Toronto’s more popular and prolific street artists. Their work can be seen adorning the sides of buildings across the downtown core and in Toronto’s Graffiti Alley.

In addition to designing air sickness bags, FlyGTA will be working with the artists to update their airplane livery. The designs are part of an ongoing brand update and loyalty drive amongst FlyGTA’s local and tourist clientele.
