John Grant Tells a Coming of Age Tale in Surreal 'Boy from Michigan' Video

Ewan Jones Morris & Casey Raymond take us on a vibrant adventure in their fifth music video for Canadian singer-songwriter John Grant. Executing their unique style of absurd and surreal animation though a patchwork of animation talent the promo focusses on illustrating the coming-of-age tale in Grant’s lyrics, about the boy living a sheltered suburban life, about to set out into the big, bad world. 

Like the duos previous video for John grants track ‘His Mother Hips’ there is a variety of animation techniques  and styles. This time round thy were helped by animation talents such as Marcos Sánchez and Jenny Jokela, with puppetry from Peter Raymond.
