Canadian agency Funday announced today that its GoToll campaign, titled ‘Avoid the Toll Troll’ was named the winner of the prestigious 2023 Silver Clio Award in the Animation category.
Founded in 1959 the Clio Awards honour excellence in advertising, and celebrate bold and groundbreaking work that propels the advertising industry forward, and incubates meaningful connections within the international creative community.
The heartwarming campaign stars Lou, the ‘loveable’ toll troll who was designed by Funday to embody the ‘inner grumpy troll’ we’ve all experienced driving through tolls. The campaign encourages drivers to download the GoToll app to avoid the grumpy troll, who becomes easily irritated by people slowing down to pay tolls and block traffic.
Priding themselves on creating strategically smart, and entertaining work, Funday conceptualised the campaign to align with GoToll’s benefits and promise to deliver a smooth-sailing before, during and after toll driving experience.
Jared Folkmann, Funday founder and chief creative officer, comments on the win: “Winning this award is a testament to passion that went into creating Lou. As a new agency this one means just little bit more. Cheers to the team and our clients who made this possible.”
