Framestore are thrilled to announce that the studio has won the award for Outstanding Motion Design at the 75th Emmys for their work on a series of sequences for Marvel Studios’ Disney+ show, ‘Ms. Marvel.’
The design team at Framestore delivered a series of bespoke 2D animated sequences, creating a unique and charming animation style for the main character, Kamala Khan, which is threaded through the series. The sequences are over live action or appear from transitions to and from live action.
Ian Spendloff, Framestore’s creative director, comments on the win stating, “I'm extremely proud that our design work for Ms. Marvel has been recognized by the Television Academy. We had massive fun producing the range of playful and creative visuals that were so important to the series as a whole, and so well received by the fans. A huge thank you to Sana Amanat, Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah and everyone at Marvel Studios who entrusted us to generate ideas and really have fun with the project, bringing Kamala Khan’s colourful POV to life by the extraordinary creators here at Framestore.”
Framestore’s design animation work for Marvel Studios continues in protagonist Kamala’s film debut, ‘The Marvels’ which was released on November 10th, 2023.
These juried awards will be presented at the 75th Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which will take place at the Peacock Theatre at LA LIVE over two consecutive nights, Saturday, Jan. 6th, and Sunday, Jan. 7th, 2024, at 5:00 PM PST.
