Charlotte Wells is a Scottish filmmaker based in New York. Fellow at the 2020 Sundance Institute Screenwriters and Directors Labs, she developed her debut feature film Aftersun starring Paul Mescal and Frankie Corio.
It won the French Touch Jury Prize at its premiere in Critics Weeks at Cannes 2022 and was nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars 2023.
Charlotte has won the BAFTA Award for Best Outstanding Debut by a British Director and the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in First-Time Feature Film.
