The short explores the lives of physically disabled athletes as they prepare for Rio in a gruelling week-long training camp

‘2-3-1’ provides a never-before-seen perspective from inside the U.S. Paralympic National Soccer team. This short explores the lives of these physically disabled athletes as they prepare for Rio in a gruelling week-long training camp.

“I'm very privileged to be their head coach and being able to give them his opportunity to represent our nation. Also, it's a privilege to bring these players together from such diverse backgrounds. We've got players who were born with disability, acquired a disability and players who are true warriors for the U.S. overseas. Without this Paralympic team, they would never have met and forged such strong friendships.” - Coach Stuart Sharp

Despite being the third most watched sporting event in the world, the Paralympians themselves are often neglected or forgotten. Unlike some other federations, the US Soccer Paralympians do not receive a salary, which creates a challenge for many members of the team. Despite their financial and physical setbacks, they put everything they have into the sport out of sheer passion and pride for their country.
