Experienced influencer and content creator professionals sought for judging panel
The Australian Influencer Marketing Council (AiMCO) today called for judges to nominate for its 2024 AiMCO Awards that celebrate and recognise the best in the influencer marketing industry.

Applications for this year’s prestigious judging panel are now open, with AiMCO looking to recruit experienced influencer and content creator practitioners and marketers.

The annual AiMCO Awards, set to be held in February next year, recognise the best and brightest in the nation’s influencer marketing industry across brands, creators, agencies and businesses.

This year’s judging will be in two phases with online judging from October 10 to 24, and final judging to take place on October 29.

Judges can include brands/marketers, creators, talent agents/managers, along with representatives from PR, social agencies, tech platforms, media and creative agencies, and influencer agencies.

Submissions for this year’s awards are set to close on September 27, with hundreds of entries expected across multiple categories. Last year, nearly 250 submissions were received for the awards, with winners including Brisbane comedy duo The Macfarlane Brothers and Figur founder Jules Robinson, and brands like Maybelline New York, Uber and U by Kotex.

The AiMCO Awards, now in their fourth year, have quickly become the pinnacle for influencer marketing in Australia, particularly in their acknowledgment of exceptional and successful collaborations between brands and creators. The event attracts a range of high-profile sponsors, with Colgate Palmolive, Madebox Services and Sticki already signed on as gifting sponsors.

This year, the awards will focus on ‘The Creator Influence’, acknowledging the power of creator campaigns, and their place in the broader marketing industry.

AiMCO managing director, Patrick Whitnall, said, “This year’s judging panel has an enormous task ahead of them – the number and calibre of entries we have already received are outstanding, and really demonstrate the high quality of professionals within our industry. I’d encourage any influencer marketing experts, who are keen to share their expertise and to view the best in the industry, to participate in this year’s judging process. It’s an opportunity to peer review, share your insights and learnings, and be part of one of the nation’s most coveted marketing award events.”

AiMCO guiding council chair, Tegan Boorman, said, "Having judged the awards for the past three years, I’ve witnessed the calibre of entries increase significantly year on year. Being a judge presents an exciting opportunity to view some of the best work in the Australian market over the past 12 months, highlight what’s performing best right now and celebrate those behind the work."

Lion cultural collaborations leader, Andie Tickner said, “If you’re in the business of driving cultural impact and collaborating with those closest to it, then becoming an AIMCO judge is a must.  Personally, I have found the scale, as well as the breadth of creativity and talent we have in Australia to be truly staggering. The enormity of it only unlocked when I became a judge last year. Of course, the connection into the community and the honour of witnessing the hard work recognised on awards night makes the experience so fulfilling, as well as a whole lot of fun!”

Finalists for this year’s awards will be released in November, with winners to be announced at the award ceremony next year.
