The little girl in the commercial has a fever. But the parents are so busy with everyday things that they do nothing despite the deterioration of Leonie's health and even play down the seriousness of the fever.

Leonie's story shows us how the climate crisis is being dealt with. Although new heat records are reported every year, whole villages are flooded, huge forest areas are on fire, many people suffer from severe drought and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warns even more urgently with each new report, solutions are delayed and the crisis is not taken seriously enough.

With the Paris Climate Agreement, Switzerland has committed itself to taking effective climate protection measures. But the federal government's plans are half-hearted. In Switzerland, we can expect more hot days, winters with little snow, dry summers and heavy precipitation.

What can you do?

Climate protection is probably also close to your heart. You can do a lot to help preserve our livelihoods: Eat less animal products, campaign against factory farming, avoid flying and go on holiday by train instead, commute to work by public transport or by bike and don't always buy everything new, but borrow, share and have broken things repaired. Take an active part in political events in Switzerland, go to the polls and vote, sign petitions, take part in demonstrations, discuss climate protection with your family and friends, and get involved with the environment in your free time.

Your personal contribution is very valuable and an important element in the fight against the climate crisis. Nevertheless, this alone is not enough to reduce the earth's fever.

Do you want to fight the earth's fever?

To avert the worst consequences of the climate crisis, greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced immediately and drastically. Globally. We must free ourselves from our dependence on oil, coal and gas and instead obtain the energy we need from renewable sources - and at the same time use the available energy more efficiently. This is possible, as Greenpeace Switzerland has recently shown.

But unfortunately, Swiss politics and business are not on course. Instead of curbing the climate crisis, we continue to fuel it.

Greenpeace is vehemently committed to more climate protection and a future worth living for all. We confront business, politics and society with the fatal consequences of half-hearted measures for climate protection and point out solutions.

To achieve our goals, we need committed people like you - and your support.
